Calm Christmas Podcast

If you are in need of some light in the dark and a reminder to prioritise your own perfectly imperfect Christmas, this is the podcast for you.

Beth Kempton’s weekly Calm Christmas podcast is music to the ears and a quiet retreat from the festive noise. It is a joy to potter around the house and listen to her beautiful readings, recipe ideas, nature notes, journal prompts, tips to get ahead and ideas for honouring the darkest season of the year without sacrificing our wellbeing. Inspired by her book Calm Christmas and a Happy New Year: A Little Book of Festive Joy, Beth hopes that the podcast will ground listeners as we freefall towards Christmas.

The focus is not just about Christmas, instead the podcast views the whole season of winter and all the feelings it brings from loneliness to joy.  Beth invites us to walk with her through the dark days in the Northern hemisphere towards the New Year. She acknowledges that Christmas means all sorts of things to different people and her advice focuses on the kind of holiday season each of us want and need this year.

Beth accepts that there is no single way to approach Christmas but reminds us how important it is to look after both our body and our mind in amongst the festive frenzy. Even if you have not listened from the start, you could dip into the episodes and learn to open up space for spontaneity, question tradition and create a celebration that suits you best.

My advice is to pop the kettle on and settle in to listen to how to create a special season for less… and, as Beth says, hopefully “more joy, more memories and a little bit of festive magic”!
